The Challenge

Controlled, or Schedule 8 medications are some of the most regulated drugs approved for Therapeutic Use in Australia. With such high levels of regulation comes extreme complexities for it’s safe and judicious use, management and record keeping. Additionally, ensuring both patient safety, and legal requirements for the pharmacist and prescriber are met at all times is an onerous task. Wishing to take on a highly regulated and guarded pharmacy market, and utilising the power of facial recognition and machine learning, Strong Room needed to gain deep insights into the pharmacy industry, it’s workflows, how their tools can assist, what organisation foundations will allow them to rapidly scale, what product improvements need to be made and that all legislative requirements have been met.

What We Did To Solve The Problem

We initially took a deep dive into their product to understand what Strong Room have produced, marketed and sold into community pharmacies already. The priority was to ensure that any critical components were not missed and that the software was performing to required expectations. To understand the development process and future feature pathway, we worked closely with the executive team, programmers and designers to ensure critical enhancements were made efficiently and effectively. We also provided detailed feedback on the workflow employed by the software and recommendations.

Team-Client interactions and experiences were also reviewed which targeted the Customer Onboarding and Nurture processes employed by Strong Room. Mystery analysis was undertaken to gain insights into the real-world customer experiences offered by the team. Development of enhanced standard operating procedures and subsequent training was performed with the team’s input to generate high levels of buy-in.

Marketing and client engagement work is ongoing targeting marketing and sales strategies.

The Results

High levels of accountability, constant and frequent communication, and being imbedded into their team through communication tools including Slack allowed the process to be performed efficiently and effectively. Working closely with various team members and departments allowed us to create high levels of buy-in for the recommended strategies, procedures and working methods. The user interface and workflow recommendations enabled the team to better understand the processes and challenges seen in today’s community pharmacies. This resulted in increased product usability and in-turn, high levels of customer satisfaction. Despite Strong Room being a relatively new player in this market, the advocacy built around the product has enabled them to generate inbound leads leading to quicker customer acquisition, and thereby lower associated costs and higher revenues.
