How Is A Pharmacy Business Strategist Different To A Traditional Business Coach?

I first started coaching and mentoring other businesses from around 2015, soon after we built our award-winning pharmacy in Mount Gravatt, Queensland.  So when I transitioned into helping other businesses, I started off by calling myself a “Business Coach”.

So when I was asked “what do you do now”, I would tell them this title and was instantly always met with blank eyes that screamed “you’re just another person spruiking some woo woo stuff and charging for it”.  You might be wondering how I “read their mind” – but I didn’t.  I would get this blank reaction and then ask them what prompted that reaction. 

To say I was surprised was an understatement.  That was never my intention so I explored what the term “Business Coach” meant in the eyes of others.  I quickly learned the notion that my interpretation of a title can be vastly different to others as I found that this term was largely mistaken with the title of “Life Coach”.

Hot Tip: The way in which you interpret the meaning of something can be vastly different to others.  It’s important that you recognise this when interacting with your own teams and customers.

The notion that we’ll storm on in, disrupt your organisation, suggest a bunch of changes and simply leave you with a report to implement yourself (which often just collects dust and feelings of regret having wasted your money) is fair enough.  There are other consultants and coaches out there that have unfortunately left that impression.

Unlike other business coaches and consultants, we as Business Strategists work with our clients to develop strategic plans to holistically improve their businesses and reach their goals and targets in 5 key areas:
